Stacking Rings

£65 per student – 09:30 to 12pm or 18:30 – 21:00 (see booking page)

Our most popular and accessible class and only 2 and a half hours! You will learn to measure, cut, bend and shape metal. Soldering and polishing are also an important part of the process to create a set of 3 beautiful and unique stacking rings. Includes the silver to make 3 wire rings.

Evening classes at Salt Way Silver

This is a series of 6 silver jewellery making evening classes. 6:30 – 9:00pm. It is suitable for ambitious beginners. Enthusiasm and an ability to work with small parts is helpful! Skills covered include: cutting, filing, bending, shaping, hammering and stamping, joining metal, finishing and polishing. You will use these skills (and a few others) to make rings, bangles, earrings, pendants and more. It’s a small group of only 4 students so lots of help and support.

Week day classes

A series of 6 classes – same as the evening class but on a Friday Morning from 9:30AM – 12:00 noon.

Seaglass setting classes at Salt Way Silver

*£95 per student – check availability and book your place below. 10am start.

A more challenging 4 hour class to help you set your chosen piece of sea glass into a pendant or ring. Suitable for enthusiastic creaters with a steady hand and a keen eye!

This is an extended class over two sessions using a variety of techniques. Session 1, – 10am – 12pm, developing those skills setting a glass bead in copper. Session 2, 12:30pm – about 2:30pm completing your setting using silver.

*All prices marked with an asterisk do not include the cost of the silver used. Your silver is weighed at the end of the class. 

Silver pendant / necklace class

£65* per student – 09:30 to 12pm

This class will teach you the necessary silversmithing skills to design and make your own silver pendant. Decorate your pendant – simply enjoy adding decoration and pattern using stamps and punches! See the sample photos in the description.

Spinner Rings

£80* per student – 09:30 to 13:30

This class will teach you the necessary silversmithing skills to design and make your own spinner ring. It’s a more challenging task but so satisfying!  There will be a maximum of 4 students, so there’s always a lot of close support.

Ring making class

£70* per student – 09:30 to 12:30pm

Make your own beautiful silver ring. Develop the skills in copper, choose from a range of designs. Then make your own unique piece. This class involves some cutting, filing, soldering and polishing. No problem though – you will get lots of support in this small class. Suitable for beginners : )

Silver “Dog Tag” necklace class

£65* per student – 09:30 to 12:30

Drop earring or Stud earring class

£65* per student – 09:30 to 12pm

Make your own beautiful silver drop or stud earrings. Choose from silver wire or silver sheet. Design your earrings, practice the skills and then make your own unique pair to take away. Some silver soldering may be necessary but you will have close support as there are only 4 students in each class. 

1:1 session:

Individual tuition to help you develop a particular skill or project. (£40* per hour – minimum 2 hours) Choose your own time and date. Contact via email or phone with a suggested date and your making plans.
